About Houses of Worship Technologies Asia 2012

Houses of worship have become more sophisticated as technology has evolved over time. With over 55,000 houses of worship around South-East Asia, this multicultural worship area is a fertile ground for media technology. New institutions are being built and older ones retrofitted to meet its growing membership. Facilities vary among the institutions ranging from small to mega worship places that boast state of the art acoustics, video and lighting systems.

The explosive double-digit growth of the houses of worship over the last few years has demonstrated that multi-media systems are now more a necessity than a luxury for most places of worship. The houses of worship sector is huge – but it’s also extremely diverse. The requirements for each congregation could differ tremendously from simple technical setups to more complex integrated multi-channel media solutions.

South-East Asia has one of the fastest growing number of worship places in the world, with an average percentage growth of over 19 % from the main religious groups over the last decade.
